What A Week!

Well where to start... I guess with Sunday seeing that is the 1st day of the week. Early Sunday morning started with Deacon not feeling well with a slight temp and breathing funny (a shallow sort of breathing), but by the time it was time to go to church he was ready to go see all the motorcycles and acted as if he felt wonderful and nothing had happened. We had a Bike Rally Sunday at church! It was great, but by the end of church he had taken a turn for the worse. By Sunday night we were giving him Tylenol/Motrin every 4 hours for 102 temp and breathing treatments every few hours trying to get his breathing under control. He continued to get worse and by 6:00 a.m. we were on our way to Children's ER. They diagnosed him croup which caused his fever to spike and caused his esophagus to become inflamed which in turn caused him not to be able to breath very good. They gave him a steroid shot for inflammation (which he hated) and also an epinephrine treatment. We had to stay for a few hours for them to observe him to make sure he was not going to start back up again and by 11:00 we were on our way home for some much needed rest. He did not sleep... pretty much all night Saturday or Sunday. We took him to his pediatrician on Tuesday for a follow up just to make sure everything was ok. She gave us a new prescription for an inhaler which will hopefully work better that the nebulizer which he fights so much. When he was younger he was much easier to manipulate but now that he is almost 3 years old and 28lbs it is harder to hold him down. Wednesday he was almost back to his old self and Wednesday night through today has pretty much been a blur and I can't remember it a whole lot but boy am I glad it is Friday and a long weekend at that. Hope everyone has a wonderful Labor Day!
